Mosquitoes were fierce and we used up most of a bottle of Deet. My son Jeremy and I were both riding converted XR650Rs.

The OHV area remained open and we explored a bit before calling it a day in anticipation of the ride starting in the morning. Our tent was up and campsite complete.

Mike's wife, Lisa, had agreed to drive Mike's pickup in support. The sag wagon met us every night at the designated campground. Mucho thanks to Lisa for doing this and hauling most all of our gear.

Early Sunday we broke camp, geared up and headed south on the old Santiam Wagon Road. After turning onto NF1028 we motored hard and fast. Jeremy and I wait as the others motor through the dust cloud behind us.

The terrain got a bit rougher as the day heated up so we always stopped in the shade while waiting for everyone.
